Opening with a vermouth twist

This Saturday, May 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., we’re celebrating the last vermut Saturday of the season with the opening of La forma del vacío, the new solo exhibition by Sandra Sanseverino.

La forma del vacío is the result of a new process, the materialization of an idea through painting. In Western culture we conceive emptiness as fear and uncertainty. By contrast, in other cultures—such as in the East—or within painting itself, emptiness or nothingness can be a liberation. To empty oneself, to exhaust ideas and resources. To reboot, like a stalled device. Paradoxically, emptiness is the condition from which form can arise.

Using different techniques and supports, the artist treats painting not as a search for form but as an aesthetic response: embossing, oil, ink; canvas, paper, cardboard. With a brushstroke that is both precise and fragile, and with multiple superimposed layers that reveal transparencies and opacities, Sanseverino enacts the same idea: create, break, manifest; capture emptiness.

In addition to the opening, you can visit the new group show 2025_N3, featuring works by the resident artists, and it will be an #OpenStudios Saturday, when you can enter some of their studios and see their work and creative processes up close, straight from the artists themselves.

At 1 p.m., Sandra Sanseverino will lead a guided tour of her exhibition.

We look forward to seeing you at Piramidón!
