Vermouth Saturday at Piramidón
This Saturday, November 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., we’ll be hosting our vermouth event alongside the opening of Román de Castro’s new solo exhibition: Un impulso de último momento.
In Un impulso de último momento, Román creates a dialogue between Mexico City and Barcelona through the tiles that appear in his interiors. He connects Mexican talavera and Catalan modernist rajola in a manner that is more emotional than mimetic—distant by thousands of kilometers, yet both rooted in the Iberian Peninsula. His fascination with tiles also evokes Pedro Almodóvar, a “pictorial” reference for the artist, reflecting the aesthetic weight of color in shaping space and atmosphere. Everyday objects in his work speak both through their written messages and through their forms, acting as witnesses and repositories of memory. Characters conceal their faces, preserving their anonymity. This combination of poetic, unfinished messages and enigmatic figures leaves each piece suspended in narrative, inviting the viewer to participate in its unfolding story.
At 1 p.m., there will be a guided tour of the exhibition with Ricard Casals.
We look forward to welcoming you at Piramidón!
