Inside out - Naked Space
“Inside out” is a performative architectural installation with an ongoing interplay between interior and exterior realms, serving as a metaphor for the fluidity and permeability of boundaries that challenge the strict separations between private and public spheres. This engaging installation invites audiences to witness how objects transform as they transition between contexts, fostering dialogues with the environment and the societal constructs around us, dismantling both physical and symbolic barriers.
“Inside out” is a transparent pneumatic structure that examines the scales and proportions of space, offering multiple interpretations from a visual perspective that not only alters the immediate environment but also incorporates the body in motion. Characterized by its versatility, the installation adapts to different settings, each time creating new spatial narratives that resonate within those spaces.
“Inside out” comes alive through its strategic placement and performative activations across two distinct locations that are geographically close to each other:
- Interior Space: Espai Souvenir
- Exterior Space: Plaça d’Anna Frank
To enrich the site-specific nature of this installation, scanned images of the interior space-Espai Souvenir are printed onto the pneumatic pvc fabric. This approach not only enhances the visual experience but also directly ties the external presentation to its original context, emphasizing the interconnected themes of the installation and the role of art and architecture in crafting adaptive urban spaces. This installation transforms not only spaces but also the perceptions of those who traverse them, inviting a deeper engagement with our collective environments.

NAKED SPACE is a collective of multidimensional creatives composed in this occasion by Amber Zhang, founder ( Qiujun -Sichuan, China 1997 )
Tiffany Brooke Whittaker ( Santiago, Chile 1996 )
Paula Ferrés ( Catalonia, Spain 2001 ) , born in 2023 as a spatial tribute to contemporary identity in nomadic and fluid forms. Since then, NAKED SPACE has been exploring and situating a profound investigation of common creativity through diverse forms of action-related spatial ephemerals, in a performative manner. Audience and artists contribute together to a shared body of work integrated with the selected space, creating a collective and open-ended scenario.
Through the transformative potential of space as a medium for cultivating connection and understanding, NAKED SPACE’s activities transcend the limits of existing perspectives on what space can contribute to cultural assembly. This occurs in decentralized formats of local knowledge production and community building.
A set of spatial acts can generate a rupture and expand our imagination of contemporary and future cities.
