Ping-Pong. Correspondence with… Nathalie Rey
A game of postal correspondence between 5th grade girls and boys from the Montserrat Solà School, curated by Susana Bacardí, with the artist Nathalie Rey.
Ping-Pong is a M|A|C project that proposes correspondence between artists and students, which is established by postal mail, as a game and dialogue. It involves sending a letter to the school with a proposal that can surprise them, make them reflect, make them know, provoke… This action causes artistic and educational processes to be activated in the classroom so that the students send their response or result of the proposal to the artist. And so on, until the artist visits the school and they get to know each other.
This year, the artist Nathalie Rey has started her game by sending a postal letter to the 5th grade students from the Montserrat Solà School.
The artist used the character that represents her alter ego, Pink Bunny, to explain to the students that Pink Bunny needed a refuge, a space that was kind, safe, where she could live and feel protected.
The exhibition shows the process of this symbolic construction to welcome Pink and that it represents the universal right to decent housing, and also a place to imagine a better world.
