La Festa del Llagostí 2026 de Neus Masdeu
Inscripcions Obertes!This year, the Joan Brossa Foundation and the Riborquestra Association are joining forces for the 6th MercArt Festival. Together, we will celebrate La Festa del Llagostí (The Prawn Festival), the artistic, community-based and gastronomic project created by artist Neus Masdeu as a tribute to musician Carles Santos.
La Festa del Llagostí features a street parade, a performative musical show with the Riborquestra choirs and ensembles, and will culminate in a communal prawn tasting. To keep the festivities going, you are invited to stay for the community dinner and evening concert organized by the Riborquestra Association.
La Festa del Llagostí returns to La Brossa with the aim of becoming a regular celebration within the Festa Major of Sant Pere, Santa Caterina and La Ribera. It is a celebration where artists, local residents and visitors come together to bring to life the Ultralocal Gastronomy Troupe created by Neus Masdeu.
Amid merrymaking, feasting and dancing, we will discover the history and characteristics of this beloved delicacy in the place where it truly belongs. As tradition dictates, there will be giant-headed figures, showcase dances, the procession of the Pyramid Prawn, the festival’s official proclamation, a gastronomic award and a communal tasting. An artistic proposal that embraces gastronomy, fun and popular culture.

ABOUT NEUS MASDEU
Neus Masdeu is a multidisciplinary artist from Barcelona who works through a variety of artistic languages, primarily performance and installation. The everyday reality of the context in which she finds herself serves as the raw material for her work, and whenever possible she seeks to activate it through artistic formats that encourage audience participation.
Tenderness and humour are two constant features of her projects, which also contain a strong critical perspective on consumer society and the dynamics that stem from it.
