Ainhoa Sayol — La meva caixa i castigada al Racó.
La meva caixa i castigada al Racó is a performance that explores the Racó as a place of protection and also of uncertainty. Through a change in the direction of the body, accompanied by drawing as a recording tool, a mechanism for self-knowledge of architectural space and the body itself is found. With her back in contact with the wall, the corner is a refuge. It is a semi-box, half doors, half walls. With her face against the wall, however, this refuge becomes a space of punishment, exposure and uncertainty. Punished in the corner! But perhaps those who behave well might be offered protection in the Racó.
Ainhoa Sayol’s artistic research uses the fold as a point where continuous extension is modified and, therefore, transformed into a new place, a new point of reference. It is through this change in the homogeneous surface that depth is given to matter, through contact with itself. From this starting point, the artist understands her practice as a folding, an encounter between territory (the outside) and her body (the innermost space).
