Flic Festival (Rita & Luca Films)
Vainilla and others | 58 min. Ages 8 and up
Vainilla, a Parisian girl, arrives on the island of Guadeloupe to spend the holidays with her aunt. At first, she rejects everything related to the island, but little by little she will discover its mysteries and will enter an exotic adventure, full of picturesque characters and magical elements.
Inspired by tales and legends of the West Indies, Vainilla is a story full of sensitivity and courage, made with an original animation technique that combines 2D with real images. The project is inspired by local culture, including folkloric and magical characters to tell the initiatory journey of a girl who discovers her origins in a land that, although unknown to her, is part of it.
The film is presented accompanied by five short films that address the value of accepting one’s own origins and celebrating what makes us unique and different.

Many things happen at patio time. It is not only a moment dedicated to rest or breakfast: it is a space in which we reveal our social skills (communication, cooperation, conflict resolution, exchange and negotiation) and also a space accessible to everyone, so that the same ones do not always impose themselves, those who have more space or have more power.

The patio of the M|A|C is a friendly, comfortable and warm place, for diverse audiences (including family audiences), to spend July evenings in company, in a patio converted into the art center’s cinema and a summer meeting space, with a bar and live music.
