Conversation

In this talk, Raisa Maudit and Martí Manen will talk about long-term work processes. Taking as a basis the exhibition A Spiralling Ascent. Looking Back from the End and their book Las Disidencias (The Dissidences), Maudit and Manen will observe ways of doing things in which they combine artistic practice with curatorship, structural observation and the desire to open and not close.

Raisa Maudit’s exhibition at La Virreina Centre de la Imatge takes one of its starting points from the twelfth century. It opens a temporal framework from which to rethink ways of engaging with historical contents that are considered minor by reading them from the viewpoint of current needs. The book Las Disidencias written by Maudit and Manen is an epistolary dialogue carried out over two years between the artist and the curator in which fragility and doubts are neither hidden nor disguised.
