No Fit (Mould Workshop)
By Joana Capella Buendia
2 sessions: October 24 (1st session) and November 14 (2nd session). From 10 am to 2 pm
A creative proposal that connects ceramics, body and body diversity through artistic experimentation.
No Fit is a workshop for the creation of moulds that takes different corporealities as a starting point for the production of functional ceramic pieces. Based on fragments and shapes of the body itself, participants will elaborate molds that will serve to shape objects linked to food, exploring the relationship between body, functionality and representation.
Through an artisanal process that combines modeling, molding and ceramic techniques, the workshop generates a space for reflection on body canons and the multiple ways of inhabiting bodies. At the same time, it offers a practical introduction to a specific ceramic production technique, from the creation of the mold to the different phases of cooking and finishing.
Participants will discover tools to critically think about body diversity from artistic practice, while acquiring basic knowledge about the realization of molds and the production of functional ceramic pieces. The result will be a collective experience of creation, learning and material experimentation.
