Object-territory. Sound and personal memory workshop for the Raval
Inscripcions Obertes!A free sound and personal memory workshop for people living in the Raval neighborhood. Registrations at lacapella@bcn.cat
Dania Shihab is a sound artist living in Barcelona. Through a pleasant and quiet meeting with people who live in the Raval, the workshop invites you to extract unexpected sounds from everyday objects that you want to bring, thus creating soundscapes that speak of the emotions and memory that lives in our things.
For this, we propose to come today to test together how certain objects that we use in our lives can sound. If you were a neighbor of the Raval, we encourage you to come and bring some simple object that you would like to lend us some time and thus establish a dialogue with Dania and her way of making music. During the workshop, we would like you to tell us the things you feel in relation to that object, and that will be a first step so that they then form part of a musical and collective composition. Some examples of these objects could be cups, books, written texts, clothes, instruments or toys.
This initial workshop is part of a wider proposal, and will end with a live performance that will take place in La Capella during the month of October, and to which you are all invited. Once the performance is done, we will return your object to you so that it can become part of your daily life again.
The Objeto-territorio proposal is part of the performance program of Barcelona Production 2025 which will take place in La Capella on the 7th, 8th and 9th of October.
