White Gold. Economy, Memories and Extractive Violence

Salt preserves, but it also corrodes. The exhibition White Gold. Economy, Memories and Extractive Violence explores the traces that salt and potash extraction have inscribed across the Bages mining basin. Through photography, video, materials and testimonies, ideadestroyingmuros brings landscape, memory and conflict into dialogue to examine the tensions between wealth and dispossession, progress and environmental degradation, industrial development and the transformation of the territory.
