Pavilion-Labyrinth, Ciro Najle and Josep Ferrando
From 12 to 22 November, we will have the opportunity to experience the Pavilion in a different way. The artistic intervention by architects Ciro Najle and Josep Ferrando invites us to rediscover the space through a play of reflections and transparencies created by glass panels arranged in a labyrinth.
The intervention proposes a glass labyrinth laid over the travertine floor of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. It does not alter the building itself, but rather activates one of its latent tensions: transparency as an unsettling boundary. This single gesture, constructed from a single material, reinforces the Pavilion’s condition as a space without refuge, where each glass panel heightens the perception of the boundary between interior and exterior. The geometry of the labyrinth does not conceal the original floor plan; instead, it makes it vibrate through overlapping reflections and transparencies. The journey invites visitors to rethink space, creating an experience of visual uncertainty and expanded presence. This critical architecture redefines transparency, not as neutrality, but as a dense, living and profoundly contemporary condition.
The opening will take place on Thursday 12 November at 1 pm at the Pavilion. For tickets, visit the Pavilion’s website, where we will keep the information updated.
