Plantando aguas. Workshop with Asunción Molinos Gordo and Carlos Monleón

This activity is part of the DELTA 2024 Conference of the Cooperativa La Fundició and the project ‘Afriquia’. Fundició and the project “Afectividad Fluvial”, promoted by Homesession (Barcelona), La Panera (Lleida) and Etopia (Zaragoza) with the support of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation.

The workshop is about water plantations, what they are, what their history is and how one could be developed to fill in and maintain the water.
and how one could be developed to replenish and maintain the aquifers that supply the Parc Agrari del Baix de Llobregat.

Water plantations are systems for capturing rainwater and redirecting it to the subsoil.
to the subsoil. These water plantations consist of the elaboration of shallow canals, dug out of the ground, which are of shallow channels, dug directly into the ground, very similar to the work of preparing a vegetable garden, which is done when preparing it for border irrigation.

The workshop includes theoretical information about their origin, their functioning, their maintenance, a conceptual maintenance, a conceptual framework on its history and its application in the present day and the practical practical development of a prototype to carry out an actual plantation.

The main objective of the workshop is to generate a space for collective learning, where to be able to better understand the rainwater and groundwater systems and the importance they have in the future of populations and agriculture.

The activity is part of the project “Afectividad Fluvial”, led by artists Carlos Monleón and Asunción Molinos Gordo, and promoted by Homesession (Barcelona), La Panera (Lleida) and Etopia (Zaragoza) with the support of the Fundación Daniel y Nina Carasso.
