First Activation of PIPE/O

PIPE/O kicks off with its first event, open to everyone.

What do pipes have to do with the life we share? And what if what we don’t see—what happens underground—is precisely what sustains it all?

PIPE/O aims to create a space for gathering, experimentation, and collective creation based on this question. Accompanied by artist Ariadna Guiteras  and the design studio Torres Bagó, in this first event we’ll visit the conduits, tanks, and valves at the Casa del Agua to explore pipes through the possibilities offered by their form. We’ll experiment with fitting and unfitting, anchoring, balancing, constructing, securing—and perhaps even destroying. Based on this exploration, we will build an “O,” a circle: a structure for thinking about and investigating everything that circulates, connects, and sustains a system—the flows, the support networks, the underground forces, and also the infrastructure that usually remains hidden.

We invite people of all ages who want to participate in the launch of this collective process. No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity and a desire to create things together!

This is the first in a series of three open activations that will take place over the coming months, culminating in a collective installation at Arts Santa Mònica.
