Roulé-boulé
Roulé-boulé is a collection of balls, spheres and balloons rejected by the Mediterranean Sea. They are gathered, step by step, along the coastline, among the breakwaters, the rocks, the surf, the beaches… The installation draws a constellation of points while tracing a network of trajectories, real or dreamed, derived from the great aquatic currents.
Iridescent from the sun, cracked and chapped by the salt, polished, scratched, sculpted by time, these are lost balls, cast out and put back into play within the exhibition space. Together, they tell a plurality of viewpoints: from the carefree world of beaches and children’s games to the many uses of the coastline; from the drifting of plastics to the reality of migrations: a landscape of this sea in the middle of the lands. The Roulé-boulé project is a journey along the Mediterranean coastline that brings together collective walks, encounters, stories and exhibitions.
