Roulotte is a publication promoted by ACM, the Association for Culture and Contemporary Art in Mataró. Between 2006 and 2015, 11 issues of Roulotte were published.
Directed by Xavier Arenós, Domènec and Martí Peran, Roulotte is a trilingual publication focused on presenting contemporary art projects developed in specific contexts around the world. Several issues also feature new works commissioned and produced by the magazine itself.
Roulotte has established different types of collaborations with cultural centres (such as the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and Arts Santa Mònica), promotional institutions (including AC/E Acción Cultural Española), and other international publications (such as SPAM arq.).
To mark the 20th anniversary of Roulotte, the M|A|C presents this exhibition, which brings together highlights from the magazine’s published issues. Visitors will also be able to take free copies of Roulotte from the exhibition space.
As part of this project, Roulotte and Lumburg Press are co-publishing issue 12, produced by the M|A|C, which brings the publication’s journey to a close. Based at Hangar. Centre de Producció i Recerca Artística, Lumburg Press is a “collective printing practice” promoted by Erik Beltrán and developed within the framework of Documenta XV (Kassel, 2022).
Issue 12 takes the form of a small collection of newly created posters by Xavier Arenós, Francisca Benítez, Domènec, Ángela Ferreira, Carla Filipe, and Perejaume. These works are accompanied by texts by Eloy Fernández-Porta, Bea Espejo, and a distinctive manifesto by Lumburg Press.
