Sistemas secuenciales. Ignacio Uriarte
Prats Nogueras Blanchard is pleased to present Sequential Systems, the new exhibition by Ignacio Uriarte (Krefeld, 1972) at the Barcelona gallery. Uriarte’s artistic practice unfolds as an architecture of resistance against the administration of time. His work is the result of a constant negotiation between the rigidity of bureaucratic structures and the sensitive dimension of the manual gesture. Through methodologies based on repetition, sequence, and order, the artist transforms elements drawn from administrative everyday life into a precise and recognizable visual language.
The drawings presented in this exhibition are constructed through sequential developments: progressive growth and decline, angular variations that generate circular forms, and shifts in intensity that produce systematic gradients. Each composition appears to follow a rigorous, almost constructive logic, yet at the same time invites the viewer to let themselves be carried along, to engage their gaze and follow the internal rhythm of the drawing. At certain moments, the forms evoke logos or familiar graphic signs; however, this reference quickly dissolves in favor of greater complexity, marked by flow, repetition, and continuous development.
