Stripsody. Cathy Berberian
Coinciding with the hundred-year anniversary of the birth of Cathy Berberian (1925-1983), this exhibition examines the history and artistic status of Stripsody, her debut work as a composer. Inspired by the onomatopoeia of comics and created with the help of her friend Umberto Eco, Stripsody combines visual creation, performance and experimentation with words and language. Through a selection of records, scores, photographs, publications and other materials, the exhibition examines the particular creative genealogy of one of the most revolutionary and unclassifiable vocal creations of the 20th century.
