Swab Art Fair
The 16th edition of Swab Barcelona showcases the latest trends in international contemporary art with a selection of 70 galleries that propose a new scenario towards abstraction.
Swab Barcelona, which acts as a platform for experimenting with emerging artistic proposals, features 7 programs: the General Program, dedicated to established galleries; Emerging, galleries with less than five years of history; Emerging LATAM, the most promising proposals in Latin American contemporary art; Swab Seed, independent spaces and new platforms; SOLO Show by Vila Casas, interdisciplinary projects from Catalonia; My First Art Fair, young galleries with less than two years of experience and no prior participation in international fairs, and Video Box, dedicated to the latest trends in video art.
As a new feature, the SOLO Show program, curated by young curators Margot Cuevas and Carla Gimeno in collaboration with the Vila Casas Foundation, which focuses on the Mediterranean, this year highlights Catalan talent, showcasing four independent spaces that will present a single show with the most avant-garde trends in the scene. This program aims to promote new curatorial approaches and generate dialogues between territories across the Mediterranean region. Swab reaffirms its local roots and essence through this initiative.
