ESPRONCEDA – Institute of Art & Culture is pleased to present SAMPLES, a new interactive sound installation by Swiss artist Bastien Bron, known for his musical and artistic project My Name is Fuzzy. Comprised of a series of large, colorful, pop-inflected mixed-media panels, each depicting the waveform of a different sound sample, SAMPLES transforms the exhibition space into a giant music-creation interface — inviting audiences to interact, move, and dance to bring the work to life.

An interactive sound installation
As visitors approach the panels, they emit sounds, generating a constantly evolving musical composition shaped entirely by the presence and movement of the people in the room. Grounded in collaboration, the work asks its audience to attune to one another so that the piece can evolve collectively, shifting from atmospheric to danceable to strange depending on who is in the space and how they choose to engage.
The installation is activated by the body Counter to the individual, screen-based immersive experiences, SAMPLES offers an immersive encounter, with no screens or visible technology. Here, the interface is the human body itself: it is through each person’s presence and movement that the installation comes alive. The artist also provides cardboard stand-ins of himself, placed in front of the panels, allowing individuals or small groups to play with the work even without a crowd around them.
Beyond its playful, participatory surface, SAMPLES questions the role of the audience in the artistic process and the agency it can exert over a work — asking what happens when the public, rather than the artist alone, holds the power to shape a piece as it unfolds.

On Friday, 25 September 2026, from 16:30 to 17:00, Bastien Bron will join audiences for an artist talk exploring the making of SAMPLES, his broader practice under the name My Name is Fuzzy, and his ongoing exploration of pop music, technology, and collective experience outside traditional platforms.

About the Artist – Bastien Bron / My Name is Fuzzy
Bastien Bron (1984), known artistically as My Name is Fuzzy, is a self-taught Swiss interdisciplinary artist recognised for his innovative fusion of visual art, music, performance and interactive technologies.
His work explores new ways of presenting pop music outside traditional formats, creating participatory, accessible and humorous experiences that blur the boundaries between contemporary art and popular culture. Through installations, interactive systems and multimedia works, Bron questions society’s relationship with music in the digital age, focusing on collective participation and shared experience. His projects have been presented internationally at institutions and festivals such as Ars Electronica, HEK Basel, Musée de l’Elysée and KIKK Festival, among other European venues dedicated to art, music and digital culture.

The Fuzzy Show is presented within the framework of NUBIA Labs 2026, ESPRONCEDA’s professional incubation and support programme dedicated to digital art and spatial computing projects, including XR technologies (AR/VR/MR), creative artificial intelligence, real-time interactive installations and immersive environments.
In its fourth edition, under the theme Spatial Computing and the Transversal Power of Digital Art, the programme drives projects at the intersection of art, technology and participation. Samples fully embodies this vision by transforming the human body into an interface and placing collective experience at the heart of the work.
