Jiser

Jiser, which means ‘bridge’ in Arabic, is a non-profit association based in Barcelona, whose aim is to promote artistic creation and the use of art as a tool for social transformation in the Mediterranean area, through joint activities that favour exchange and rapprochement between the different artistic and cultural realities of the region.

Team:

Xavier de Luca: Founding member and general coordinator in Barcelona. He is also a photographer and exhibition curator.

Mohamed Ben Soltane: Founding member and general coordinator in Tunis. He is an artist, professor at ISBAT in Tunis and cultural manager.

Paula Durán: Founding member and research coordinator. She is a professor at the UB and researcher.

Houari Bouchenak: Collaborator since 2021. He is a cultural manager and multidisciplinary photographer, founder and responsible for La Maison de la Photo in Tlemcen (Algeria) as well as co-founding member of Collective220.

Marta de Francisco: Incorporated in 2022, she coordinates Jiser's communication. She has a degree in Art History.

Walid Aïdoud: Collaborator since 2014, he is coordinator in Algiers. He is a visual artist and cultural manager, founder of the Box24 collective in Algiers and coordinator of the International Meeting of Art and Human Rights in Western Sahara.
