Art and play in public squares during July evenings
Plaça de la Llibertat (Salt)
For children of all ages
July 6, 7 and 8, from 7 pm to 9 pm

Because it is summer, because the days are long and so are the hours for playing or simply gathering with neighbors outdoors in the cool evening air. There can be many reasons to celebrate ourselves, and when that happens, squares and streets are decorated, signaling that people are celebrating there. Some towns remain decorated all summer long, and even throughout the entire year, with colorful bunting stretching across streets and squares. Sometimes as an attraction for tourist crowds, and other times for the joy and enjoyment of the people who live there. Whatever species we belong to, we all want to celebrate ourselves…

Taller Tartera opens its toolbox of graphic techniques to explore each participant’s festive imagination and collectively create bunting that, like a neighborhood itself, becomes a mosaic of voices, colors, and above all, stories. Through printmaking techniques and the use of recycled materials, they invite children to imagine and create festive decorations for their neighborhood square.

Taller Tartera is a collective project formed by Sara Cabo, Maria Giró and Lurdes Casanova which, since 2016, has combined artistic creation with education and cultural mediation in the Alt Pirineu region. Their work focuses on artistic research, experimentation, and dissemination, promoting art as an educational tool and as a driving force for local community engagement. They also aim to strengthen public space as a cultural resource through collective work and community participation.

Segona Residència is a participatory artistic leisure project co-produced by the Associació Cultural La Volta, the Centre Cultural Les Bernardes, and the Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani de Girona.
