"Gurumbé. Canciones de tu memoria negra", with Miguel Ángel Rosales

Gurumbé, canciones de tu memoria negra (2016) is a documentary film that reveals the African presence in Spain between the 15th and 19th centuries, as well as its contribution to Spanish and European musical culture, especially flamenco.
Miguel Ángel Rosales is a documentary film director and screenwriter. With a degree in Anthropology, he has made several short and medium-length films. ‘Gurumbé. Canciones de tu memoria negra’ is his first feature film.

Organized by: Teatre Municipal de Girona and the Research Group on Power, Media and Global Cultures (POMAC) of the University of Girona within the framework of the Black Atlantic cycle. In collaboration with: Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani de Girona, Güell Espai Jove and Centre Cívic Sant Narcís. Activity linked to the celebration of the city’s bi-millenary “Girona, 2,100 years” and within the exhibition cycle ‘Potential Legacies’.
