When Summer Arrives, Salt’s Sculptures Dance

PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES WITH LA NOIA DEL MONYO

Wednesday, June 10 and 17, and July 1, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

The town of Salt is full of original and fun sculptures. The otters in Plaça de la Vila, the turtles along Passeig dels Països Catalans, the little girl in Plaça del Veïnat… Have you ever noticed them? Shapes, colours and textures that accompany us every day. But are these sculptures always still and unmoving? What if, with the arrival of summer, they came to life and also wanted to celebrate the arrival of warm weather, heat and long days? What if they also enjoyed celebrating and playing, eating ice cream and swimming in the sea? Come to Plaça de la Llibertat and discover the secrets of all these sculptures!

La Noia del Monyo is an artistic collective formed by Ingrid Riera, Maria Soler and Clara Soler that, through an interdisciplinary approach focused on public space, understands and explores art as a tool for social transformation.

Throughout these three sessions leading up to the implementation of We Are Celebrating Ourselves!, the proposal selected within the framework of the Second Residence 2026 programme, La Noia del Monyo will facilitate a play space in the square to begin introducing the artistic project.

With the collaboration of Juguem Salt, Casal dels Infants, Consorci Salt-Gironès and educational centres in Salt. Second Residence is an artistic and participatory leisure project co-produced by the La Volta Cultural Association, Les Bernardes Cultural Centre and Bòlit, Girona Contemporary Art Centre.
