7:30 pm – Elizabeth Davis
8:30 pm – MAKINA TRAX – ROC
9:30 pm – Coolkid2000

Rarefacció is celebrating its sixth edition with a condensed, one-day event at Sala Ricson on 14 November. This concentrated version preserves the essence of Hangar’s listening cycle, bringing together four proposals from distant territories that share a common drive for experimentation.

The evening will open with a multichannel intervention for excessive amplification conceived specifically for Ricson by Hugo Esquinca and CONDICIÓN_1125, testing the limits of both the system and its listeners.

Next up is Elizabeth Davis, an artist who defies categorisation and draws equally from musique concrète, radio drama, harsh noise and 20^(th)-century dance music. Expect something eclectically splendid.

The third act will be the Barcelona debut of MAKINA TRAX, a free interpretation of the Catalan makina tradition where Roc Jiménez de Cisneros (EVOL, Glues) bends, stretches and fractures the canon.

Coolkid2000, resident DJ of the Barcelona collective Me Siento Extraña and La Penca Radio, will close the night. Expect high BPMs and a genuine mix of makina, trance and nightcore to bring Rarefacció to a close with club-like energy.

Diego Bustamante designed this year’s visual identity, creating a typographic reinterpretation of graphical representations of the limits of hearing — and we think that’s beautiful.

Gratefully,

Albert Tarrats, curator of Rarefacció 2025.

They have performed in clubs such as Razzmatazz, Upload, and El Pumarejo in Barcelona, Teatro Magno in Madrid, Barraca in Valencia, and in countries including Germany and Japan. They have collaborated with radio stations such as PNCR (Spain), BOMBO (Spain), Sphere Radio (Germany), Room303 (Japan), and Tokyo Beer Lab (Japan), and performed at festivals including SOM VALÈNCIA and Embassa’t.
