Style Optimizer: Style Is Dead. With Víctor Balcells

A performative presentation of the software program created by Víctor Balcells, a writing tool that articulates and inspires his new audiovisual production, integrated within the exhibition “Aquí mateix en un altre lloc,” currently on view at Bòlit Pou Rodó.
Presentation of a writing program equipped with the latest technological tools to assist and support the writer throughout their literary career: from the inspiration phase, through planning and research, to writing and revision.
Programmed using revolutionary vibe coding techniques, the tool offers advanced analytical functions that only a few years ago would have been impossible (or highly complex) to create. It is also conceived as an art piece, where details and hidden corners contain small works and surprises. Its creator will present the software, explaining its features as well as the collective programming and ideation process that took place on Discord with the community to build it.
Víctor Balcells Matas (Barcelona, 1985) is the author of the novels Discotecas por fuera (Anagrama, 2022) and Hijos Apócrifos (Alfabia, 2014), as well as the short story collection Aprenderé a rezar para lograrlo (Delirio, 2017), finalist for the Setenil Prize in 2017. In the field of contemporary art, he is the author of the artist’s book 189 errores (Can Editions, 2017) and was a finalist for the Art Nou Prize in 2016. Since 2022, he has been creating and sharing artistic and cinematic audiovisual content on platforms such as YouTube and Instagram.
