Taula #26 with the photographer Mohamed Mahdy

In May we will have the photographer Mohamed Mahdy doing a residency in Barcelona.

Winner of the World Press Photo 2023 for his multimedia project Here, The Doors Don’t Know Me, in 2024 he was awarded the III Albert Camus Incipiens Prize, which will finance the publication of a book on this project, due to be published in 2025. This long-term work, which began in 2016, analyses the emotional and social impact of the changes in Al Max, a fishing neighbourhood in Alexandria, and explores themes such as home, sense of belonging and collective memory.

Coinciding with the 2025 edition of the Trobades Camus, and his stay in Menorca, the photographer will spend two weeks in Barcelona presenting the project in different spaces linked to photography.

We are organising Taula #26, a fake live radio programme in which we will have the presence of the artist, and the whole Jiser team, to talk about his projects.
