A volcano screams/A body explodes

This is a statement on the dematerialized practices of cinema, which arises from personal experience, where the filmmaker places her own body into the film, performing a speculative identity, that of “subject mother-monster”.

To interrogate issues such as obstetric structural violence, sexuality and gender, she uses a 16mm projector, a slide projector and words. Presenting a manifesto in diptych form: a performance film and a film read in collaboration with the researcher Núria Gómez Gabriel, with the process of childbirth as a common thread.

This project of performance and expanded cinema has been supported by the Girona Crea Grant for Research and Artistic Creation.
