Literary Vermouth hosted by La Penyora With Consol Ribas and Lluís Llamas
A literary vermouth organized by the La Penyora Cultural Association, besides being a vermouth, can be anything: a meeting with friends and strangers, an impromptu party, an oasis of vitality and freedom in the midst of the predictable city, and, of course, a review of all the festivals and initiatives carried out over the years that, today, in many cases, would be unthinkable.
Consol Ribas and Lluís Llamas opened La Penyora in June 1979 on Nou del Teatre street, a lane that would be dubbed ‘the street of the toasted,’ where a mix of urban tribes coexisted, a combination hard to imagine today. The restaurant was one of the hot spots, alongside other establishments such as Los Padules.
Since its closure in 2020, the owners, leading the La Penyora Cultural Association, have been promoting two festivals: the Pepe Sales Independent Art Festival and the El Patio festival.
Activity included in the public program of the exhibition “Infralocus. The 90s in Girona, a Decade of 20 Years.”
