Hugo Martínez-Tormo configures ‘39.4244323_-0.4197375_29.10.24’ as a space for reflection on the inherent vulnerability of artistic expressions and their relationship with natural phenomena, particularly climate disasters that threaten the integrity of human beings and their cultural heritage.

‘39.4244323_-0.4197375_29.10.24’ articulates a reflection on how art, as a historical witness and aesthetic vehicle, is subject to external and internal forces that threaten its existence.

Hugo Martínez-Tormo (Valencia, 1979) is an agricultural engineer and holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). Thanks to his scientific and artistic training in environmental studies, his work focuses on the relationship between art, science, ecology and technology. Always from a critical perspective, he makes use of interactive, audiovisual, electronic, mechanical, light and acoustic installations, employing different means of expression.
