Colegiado número 171

ADN Galeria presents “Colegiado número 171”, a project by Alán Carrasco.
The exhibition is articulated around the artist’s research on the figure of the architect Manuel Sánchez Arcas. It unfolds from the idea of reconstruction as a founding myth of the three countries in which his exile took place and from the contradictory notion of the “Pax Sovietica” in the context of the Cold War. From these frameworks, Carrasco reflects on memory, oblivion, and the fissures of Western historiography. With “Colegiado número 171“, he delves into recurring themes in his practice, such as political exile, the construction of historical narratives, and the question of what, and whom, is remembered when the testimonies of an era are erased or delegitimized.
