We invite you to participate in an activity where we will experiment with making fermented foods while sharing stories and memories of the Derecha del Eixample neighbourhood and the Mercado de la Concepción.
We will learn about the process of preserving food through fermentation, but we will go further: we propose a poetic fermentation. Based on the conversations that arise, we will connect food with meanings, knowledge and stories that we also want to preserve. Fermenting, in this case, will also be a way of thinking together that is worth preserving.
The flavours and knowledge we preserve will be shared in a collective tasting on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at 12 noon in the courtyard of the Sofia Barato Library.
Activities within the framework of the Ex-Libris programme by Homesession in collaboration with Biblioteques de Barcelona and Fundació ”la Caixa”, ICUB-Ajuntament de Barcelona and OSIC-Generalitat de Catalunya.
