Filip Wierzbicki-Nowak presents Stored for a While at ESPRONCEDA
ESPRONCEDA – Institute of Art & Culture announces Stored for a While, a solo exhibition by Polish artist Filip Wierzbicki-Nowak, opening on September 9th, 2025 at 7:00 p.m., and on view until September 11th, 2025, by appointment only. The exhibition will take place at Carrer d’Espronceda 326, Naves 4–5, Barcelona.
Stored for a While is the result of Wierzbicki-Nowak’s artistic residency at ESPRONCEDA, within the framework of the NEB & Inclusio program, with the support of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland. The exhibition brings together a selection of raw canvas paintings, photographs, installations and videos that explore the relationship between urban transformation and nature, the passage of time, and the memory of inhabited places.
In his artistic inquiry, Wierzbicki-Nowak poses fundamental questions about identity, the transience of time, and the inevitable disappearance of cultures and civilizations. His practice seeks to articulate urgent concerns about the condition of contemporary humanity and its relationship with the past, present, and future.
“During my artistic residency at the ESPRONCEDA Institute of Art & Culture, I researched the human impact on the natural environment in the Catalan region and possible ways to protect it. About the artist:
Filip Wierzbicki-Nowak (Poznań, 1985) is a visual artist and associate professor at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznan. His interdisciplinary practice spans painting, video, installation, and site-specific actions. He has exhibited widely in Poland and abroad and has been awarded several international residencies. Stored for a While is part of the NEB & Inclusio 2025 program, an annual initiative led by ESPRONCEDA and inspired by the values of the New European Bauhaus, focused on sustainability, social justice, and cultural innovation through interdisciplinary artistic practices.
