Lux Domus. Josep Poblet

Lux Domus takes its name from the original Latin meaning of domus: the home understood not merely as a building, but as a place of intimacy, refuge and protection. It is where architecture transcends its structural function to become an emotional experience, shaped by memory, rest and a sense of belonging. Drawing on this idea, Josep Poblet creates an architecture made entirely of light, transforming the exhibition space into an environment for contemplation, stillness and shelter.

In Lux Domus, light ceases to be something that simply illuminates and becomes the primary material of the work. Its geometric forms evolve slowly, altering our perception of the surrounding space and inviting visitors to experience time differently. The installation encourages a slow, almost meditative journey, where every subtle movement reshapes the relationship between body, space and light. The project also explores an apparently paradoxical idea: the materiality of light. Although inherently intangible, light acquires an almost physical presence, as if it could define walls, shape volumes or construct ephemeral rooms. Poblet harnesses this quality to create an immersive experience that invites us to perceive space in unfamiliar ways. In this sense, Lux Domus reveals that architecture is not merely the sum of its physical components, but also the dynamic relationship between those elements and the phenomena that inhabit them.
