Miguel Gallardo. The Origin of the Black Plage

Display of originals from the first exhibition that Miguel Gallardo held at the Domingo’s store in Lleida on July 5, 1972, and that, as he described in an interview he gave to La Vanguardia, “my sense of humor has a lot to do with all that learning in Lleida”.

Miguel Ángel Gallardo Paredes (Lleida, 1955 – Barcelona 2022), who signed himself simply as Miguel Gallardo, was a prominent cartoonist, creator, among many other characters, of Makoki, an emblematic comic character born in 1977 and appearing in crucial publications of the counterculture in his homeland (Disco Exprés). His legacy is part of the MORERA collections.
