Notes al peu. Jordi Antas i Eulàlia Rovira
When we speak of footnotes, we mean those ideas that a text cannot incorporate without interrupting itself and which, for that reason, it ends up sending downwards. But if by foot we also mean the anatomical foot, then these notes could interrupt something else: walking, or at least its momentum. From this perspective, Eulàlia Rovira’s exhibition project moves through everyday objects and gestures to ask how bodies orient themselves and what, exactly, it means to walk upright. Tracing the architecture concealed within words such as straight, straighten, correct, or align, another suspicion emerges: what had to be corrected for something to appear straight? To what extent does correction not simply consist in smoothing out irregularities, but in producing a particular idea of order that eventually comes to appear natural?
