Pedreny, pedram, parany, pericle. Exhibition by Ariadna Mangrané

Pedreny, pedram, parany, pericle” brings together a collection of new works by Ariadna Mangrané in the fields of painting, sculpture and installation. The artist is interested in repetition, seriality, copying and moulding, as if, through variations on certain motifs, she wanted to discern the essence of the artistic work, those elements and properties that define it and remain unchanged beyond changes and transformations. Mangrané explores certain dichotomies linked to the materiality and condition of the work of art, such as the relationship between form and content, between matter and residue, between rubble and monument, or between creation and destruction.

Exhibition curated by Alexandra Laudo.

Ariadna Mangrané lives and works between Malmö and Alcanar, with a career in which painting has a strong presence. Her work is articulated in space through sculptures or installations that investigate material and conceptual relationships. She is interested in exploring the turning point between reality and representation. She starts from manual, everyday and repetitive work, questioning the constitution of the work of art itself, the construction of discourse, and how time and its quantification can affect artistic practice.

Her work has been exhibited at the Vila Casas Foundation (2022), the Miquel Alzueta Gallery, the Barcelona Chamber of Urban Property, the Tortosa Museum (2016), and CG Gallery (2017), among others. She was awarded the Francesc Gimeno Prize (2016).
