Workshop for families with Albert Gironès
“The Books of the Future”: Workshop for families
With Albert Gironès
Tuesday, May 26 / 5:30 PM
Biblioteca Montserrat Abelló (Carrer dels Comtes de Bell-Lloc, 192, 200, Les Corts, BCN)
We invite you to take part in a family activity where we will imagine what books of the future might look like!
This activity will feature visual artist Albert Gironès, who will invite us to imagine the kinds of books that might be written 100 years from now using the collage technique.
We will work with science fiction book covers from the library, dissecting and recomposing them to create new covers for fictional books. Based on these creations, we will also imagine their contents.
Albert Gironès is this year’s artist-in-residence at the Biblioteca Montserrat Abelló and will work with different groups to create and publish a collaborative future-themed fanzine. This fanzine will simulate having been published 100 years from now, in the year 2126.
The results of the activity will be published in this future fanzine.
As part of the ExLibris programme by Homesession and Biblioteques de Barcelona.
