Fundació Vila Casas
The Fundació Vila Casas is dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of Catalan contemporary art and its work is fullfilled in four venues: in Barcelona, Espais Volart host temporary exhibitions and the Can Framis Museum presents the painting collection; the Museu Can Mario (Palafrugell) is dedicated to sculpture and the Museu Palau Solterra (Torroella de Montgrí) to photography. In addition to showcasing part of the collection, the museums programme temporary exhibitions.
The Foundation provides a platform for new generations of artists through calls for awards dedicated to different disciplines and also revives established careers and forgotten figures.
The Foundation\'s collection comprises thousands of works by artists from the 1940s to the present day, and continues to grow at the request of its founder, the collector Antoni Vila Casas.
The institution also works in the medical and health fields, supporting research and communication with a humane and humanist vision.
