Bòlit Mentor: Living on the margins
The margins are places full of life. Outside of the spotlights and fashions, of what convention has previously accepted, the margin tries out unusual ways of being. We could say that almost everything is margin: the life that beats underfoot, in the terrestrial or aquatic subsoil, in the riverbeds, in the suburbs or in the residual spaces of the city.
This project wants to focus on the life of the margin to appreciate its richness and vital pulse.
The proposal focuses on the margins and gives value to the relationship and participation with those spaces that define and determine us. The parallel between growth, change, evolution and transformation between the self and the invisible, murky, marginal, little explored or little valued spaces will be what has guided the didactic proposal with the students of the three high schools in the province of Girona. The discovery of marginal spaces is, at the same time, an invitation to discover the margins of oneself, to value personal aspects that until now the person considered irrelevant. It was also about letting oneself be affected by the environment to the extent that, with our actions, we affect it and to be sensitive and flexible to these constant changes.
To carry out this project, the participation of the artists Jonàs Forchini has been counted on, who, with ‘La línia de la superficie’, immersed himself in the Banyoles lake, Aitor Climent who with ‘Cantonades ermes’ reclaims the residual areas close to urban areas and Ona Trepat who with ‘Fressar el riu’, explores new ways of relating to the banks of the Ter river using crafts and their intrinsic relationship with the territory.
