In this horizontal proposal, Rosa Lleó and Pedro Torres invite us to put our body, not just our eyes.

That day in which the mainland was uncertain
we all jumped into the sea

Two weeks ago when I was asked to develop this route, we were living in a radically different situation from what today seems a sort of a global reality show, inspired by that surreal fiction of Buñuel, El ángel exterminador. Our reality, without knowing for how long, keeps us confined to the interior of our homes. The most recent signal about the mistakes of the Anthropocene brought the message in the form of a virus.

Barcelona is a city that invites you to walk. Walking around the city is a practice that I have had since I arrived here. Wide streets, almost always flat, make me walk for hours without perceiving the weight of the displacements. The first exercises to approach a place usually happen in its most superficial layer. A city is full of points of light. Those recognizable points that place us on the map.

Taking the most basic spacecraft that one has ever been given – the body itself – I head to the closest underground hole with a <> signal. This tunnel does not go through time, but it does shorten it.

Some time ago I received GRAF’s invitation to take care of the performing arts spaces in the context of Barcelona. Whether focused on the exhibition or on research processes, each with its own ways, the supposed scenic panorama of the most experimental shore could now be summed up in a map drawn by…

Gallery Weekend returns to Barcelona once again, this is its fifth edition, and we were in need a bit of adrenaline after the rentrée in September with Art Nou. Full of proposals and activities to see, I am going to take one of these good coffees to look at the map of all the galleries and think of a possible route. I would not know where to start. Maybe in the bedroom of Casa Vicens.
